Teeth Whitening

There are many products and techniques available for patients who want to achieve a brighter smile, and with so many options available, it can be difficult to choose the method that is right for you. The best way to begin any professional teeth-whitening regimen is to schedule an appointment and talk to Dr. Chitgopekar about the differences between in-office and at-home professional whitening solutions.

In-Office Teeth Whitening

This professional option is performed in a dental office, and Dr. Chitgopekar is pleased to offer you the Sm;)e  Perfected™, a 20-minute in-office teeth whitening solution.

How it Works

  • Step 1: CLEAN & POLISH TEETH - The whitening process begins with a professional cleaning. The complete cleaning provides the best possible conditions for the whitening to be at its most effective.  Stain removal, enamel brightening and powerful whitening can then occur without sensitivity.
  • Step 2: PLACE PRE-LOADED TRAY - The hygienist will then place a pre-filled whitening tray in your mouth. This tray fits comfortably and allows you to relax the jaw while your teeth whiten. She will also apply Vitamin E oil swabs to help protect your lips and gums.
  • Step 3: 20 MINUTES UNDER LIGHT - The tray applies a gentle layer of soft, pleasant tasting gel which is specially formulated for maximum results without the sensitivity. The special formula includes an active ingredient. The gel is activated using the  Sm;)e  Perfected™ LED light for 20 minutes.
  • USE THE TAKE HOME PEN FOR SMILE MAINTENANCE  - All teeth fade back but with the take-home pen and tray, you can maintain your beautiful smile until next cleaning. See these instructions

At-Home Teeth Whitening

  • Tray Whitening - Tray bleaching is a type of professional whitening that uses custom-made trays and whitening gel only available through Dr. Chitgopekar. The whitening gel is placed in custom-fitted trays that fit perfectly over your teeth. As the peroxide in the gel breaks down, hydroxyradicals help whiten stained teeth. Unlike strips, this process whitens all your natural teeth and may contain ingredients intended to provide maximum comfort. At-home professional tray whitening generally takes ten to 14 days, although you may notice results in as little as three to five days.
